Greater Winnipeg Water District Aqueduct – Bridging Structure
Being in close proximity to the Shoal Lake Aqueduct required careful project execution. Work involved the removal of an existing timber aqueduct crossing structure built in the 1920’s. A new 2,600 square foot structural slab was the constructed to replace the existing bridge, thereby enabling the rail line to safely cross over the underground aqueduct. Associated railway work was necessary in order to transition into the existing track which serves as the main supply line to the City of Winnipeg’s water treatment facility.
