Grace Hospital MRI Addition

Grace Hospital MRI Addition

Winnipeg, MB

The addition of a new two-storey building at the Grace Hospital campus included a new MRI suite, support spaces, exam rooms, gym, and service rooms. Highly specialized mechanical, electrical and magnetic resonance shielding systems were integrated throughout the construction. The facility is strategically located within the Grace Hospital campus and is intended to serve as a conduit to the existing Mental Health buildings through interconnected tunnels.

Alterations to the adjacent Hospital and Mental Health buildings were required to accommodate the addition, including an elevator to allow for seamless flow of staff, materials, and patients between the buildings.

The new MRI at Grace Hospital responds to the growing need for this kind of diagnostic technology and will see approximately 3,000 scans performed annually.
