Fre Maachi, which means “Fresh Beginnings” in Michif, is a 20-unit transitional Housing First program. The three-storey building is part of the Manitoba Métis Federation’s Rapid Services program, which was established to provide housing supports to Red River Métis Citizens at risk of or experiencing homelessness.

Bockstael Construction was engaged to provide immediate delivery of this project which was part of the federal government’s Rapid Housing initiative. The project converted an existing commercial building into four two-bedroom suites and 16 studios, including six accessible units. The facility also includes a spiritual room, computer room, and 24-hour security.
