Centennial Concert Hall Facade Restoration
For over 50 years, the Centennial Concert Hall has welcomed audiences with its towering Tyndall Stone façade and signature red carpet. As one of Manitoba’s most cherished cultural landmarks, preserving its legacy was essential while freshening up the visitor experience. This multi-phase restoration project culminated in the final stage of the building envelope renewal, safeguarding its architectural integrity for generations to come.
The exterior work included careful removal and reinstallation of 40,000 square feet of stone cladding, a full roof replacement with new drainage and anchors, window and door upgrades, and environmental remediation. Beyond the exterior, a refreshed red carpet and the installation of a sophisticated hard surface dance floor in the lobby and mezzanine brought new life to the venue.
Upgraded restroom fixtures and finishes further elevated the guest experience. Recognized with the 2024 Heritage Winnipeg Preservation Award for Excellence, this restoration honours the past while ensuring the Centennial Concert Hall remains a beacon of culture and community in downtown Winnipeg.
