Construction of the Kenny Street Housing project for Sara Riel Inc. included demolition of an existing structure and the construction of a new three-storey apartment building on a partial basement. Bockstael Construction was instrumental in the selection of the foundation and building structure systems, conducting multiple analyses and budgets to determine the most cost-effective solutions. The innovative Hambro joist and concrete floor system was implemented along with load-bearing steel studs. In addition, Place Bernadette Poirier has been officially designated as a Power Smart building by Manitoba Hydro. This was the second Construction Management project undertaken by Bockstael Construction for Sara Riel Inc., having completed their office renovation on Moore Avenue in 2012.
