This position is a valuable member of our accounting team, reporting to the Director of Accounting & Finance, the individual will focus on handling special assignments from the executive team dealing in matters of claims, design, and implementation of specialized reporting, as well as contract costing on major contracts. The individual will manage the process in the accounting department with monthly and year end reporting and will oversee the AP and AR roles.

Financial Reporting
o Assist in the development of our current Administrative Information System and Job Costing System, including modules not currently being utilized.
o Oversee the collection of outstanding customer invoices to ensure a current Aged Trial Balance is maintained.
o Assist in the preparation of year-end audit files.
o Prepare working papers supporting monthly closing process and month end balances.
o Complete the preparation of the monthly Financial Statements and monthly reports in accordance with GAAS and GAAP.
o Complete Monthly Government remittances.
o Complete Monthly 3rd party reporting to insurance and financial institutions.
o Oversee AP and AR accounting role’s daily operations and assist others in department as needed.

Project Accounting – Major Contracts
o Contract reconciliation. For example, compare our contact with the certificate of payment or change order issued by the consultant. Reconciliation of the contract total with the consultant’s and payments.
o Tracking COs – in our own billing application and payment to the subs/suppliers. Notify PMs for any inconsistency.
o Subcontract reconciliation & HB release; Review the AR statement provided by sub-contractors and compare it to overall costs in Jonas to deal with the discrepancies, change order difference, overbilling etc.
o Costs reallocation via general entries. For example, paid invoices are coded to appropriate cost code but need to re-allocate to a different cost code/s.
o Establish and review subcontractors’ billing breakdown to match our record, prepare the costs summary (reconcile job costs) with billing requirements for the project as CM agent.
o Analyze suppliers’ invoices and adjust them if necessary, according to Project Managers.

Preference will be given to candidates with the following qualifications:
o CPA accounting designation, with 2 to 3 years’ experience in a mid to senior financial role.
o Strong computer proficiency with advanced skills in MS Office and accounting software.
o In-depth understanding of all areas of finance, including job costing, GL integration, payables, payroll, AR, and how the finance department impacts the organization.
o In-depth understanding of excel.
o Construction background is considered an asset.
o Experienced in processing accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries and reconciliations, via accounting system.
o Demonstrated working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
o Skilled in organizing work, setting priorities, working independently and efficiently manages competing priorities.
o Highly organized, efficient, and attentive to details with excellent follow-up skills.
o Ability to effectively perform a variety of duties with frequent interruptions and under changing priorities.
o Ability to prioritize and adjust heavy workload, manage a variety of tasks, and meet various deadlines with changing priorities, frequent interruptions, and conflicting deadlines.
o Excellent interpersonal skills to interact diplomatically and effectively deal with diverse personalities.
o Professional demeanor and courteous/helpful manner.
